Following the huge success of our Keep Warm, Keep Well campaign over the past few years, we’re excited to announce two events in Widnes and Runcorn in partnership with Halton and St Helens VCA.

As part of our ongoing Destination Old Town initiative, a special Spruce Up Your Streets event took place this week.

Our successful school holiday lunch scheme, in collaboration with Halton Borough Council, provided meals, food items, and engaging activities for 93 children across six locations during the summer holidays, receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from families.

The independent living scheme, home to 50 apartments, has had a range of exterior improvements and enhanced fire safety measures implemented.

As part of the Destination Old Town initiative, we’ve funded 16 weeks of evening sessions at SPACE in Runcorn for their ‘Despresso Club,’ a free drop-in for anyone feeling lonely, isolated, or in need of mental health support.

The magazine will be distributed to all customers with their rent statements over the coming weeks.

The new appointments will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to Halton Housing.

The winners of our 2024 Garden Competition have been announced. 

With as many as 880,000 pensioners missing out on Pension Credit, the Pension Credit Week of Action seeks to raise awareness and encourage more claims.

The event, held at the charity's Runcorn Office Carers’ Garden, brought together children from across the borough, who each brought their favourite teddy bear.

St. Andrew's hosts a variety of activities, including a community toddler group, a weekly church fellowship, the Muddy Church group, an active pensioners' group, and an after-school Lego club.

This year, Halton Housing contributed £750, which went towards purchasing sports equipment and uniforms.

We recently funded a 'Fresh Beginnings' cookery course to boost participants' confidence and culinary skills with fun, hands-on cooking sessions.

Our new development on Runcorn High Street will provide 66 much needed and affordable 1 and 2 bedroom homes for over 55s in the heart of the town centre.  

Entries for our popular garden competition for 2024 are now open. 

The group recently received £2000 from us, after a successful Helping Hands application. This funding will go towards hall hire for practice sessions, coach hire for competitions, and new uniforms for their talented dancers.

The Upton Community Pantry remains a steady source of support for locals, providing much-needed essentials with the backing of Halton Borough Council, and the support of partners.

Upton Community Centre was buzzing with excitement as families gathered for an afternoon filled with fun!

We will close for the Easter Bank Holiday from from 5.00pm on Thursday 28th March until 9.00am on Tuesday 2nd April.

New raised beds were installed and a litter pick around Dovedale Court, Bechers shops and the playing fields was carried out.

What started as a patch of land is now flourishing.

The training day involved a simulation of a fire, with the trainees blindfolded to simulate a smoke-filled environment.

Through our Destination Upton project, we recently funded a free 'Photography Basics' and a free 'Photo Editing' course for local residents, run by Digital Arts Box and what a success it's been.

The Spruce Up Your Streets’ team were back in force when they hit Grangeway on the 28th Apri! 

This important annual event in the calendar from the Mental Health Foundation aims to increase people's awareness and understanding of anxiety by providing information on the things that can help prevent it from becoming a problem. 

Learning at Work Week is a yearly celebration of all things learning and development and aims to build learning cultures in workplaces.

Over the last 12 months, the team have thought differently about how they reached out and provided support and guidance to help navigate the ‘Cost of Living Crisis’.

To celebrate the scheme's 10th birthday, we have completed significant investment work to refresh the building. 

Residents of Quarry Court have planted a rose bush in memory of the late Queen Elizabeth II and residents that they have lost from the sheltered scheme over the years.

Attendees will gain food preparation and cooking skills, learn knife skills, cleaning skills, and learn how to get the best out of using a slow cooker.

As well as providing uniforms, it also allowed families across Halton to access support with benefits, debt advice and employability skills

Working with Power In Partnerships our Destination Grange project funds much needed sports equipment for Grangeway community centre.

The apprentices will learn the skills needed for specific roles by shadowing colleagues and gaining hands-on experience ‘on the job’.

The award-winning ‘Eat @ The Heath’ meetings are aimed at over 50’s to help get out of the house and enjoy some social time – a fantastic opportunity to meet new people and to make new friends. 

The converted Co-operative building is located just outside Barnsley town centre and comprises 66 self-contained 1- and 2-bedroom apartments. 

Halton Housing will be closed next Monday 19th September, as a national Bank Holiday for The Queen’s funeral.

New ‘U Can Fix’ series launches to help customers fix some common DIY problems around the home.  

Work has begun to retrofit three low-rise blocks of flats on the Grange Estate, to enhance and improve their quality and energy efficiency.

The Silver accreditation means 15% of the workforce including colleagues from all tiers of the organisation, and board members, are now certified as carbon literate.

School uniform can be a significant expense for many families, this scheme will provide support towards the cost of school uniforms for school-age children living in a Halton Housing home.

Thanks to a number of recent fundraising activities, colleagues across Halton Housing have raised a fantastic £875 for local charities.

ClickSilver Connections is giving Halton Housing customers the opportunity to enhance their digital skills through their free one-to-one mentoring programme. 

The certificate will place Halton Housing on the Government's website in the directory of organisations that hold Cyber Essentials.

Taking place from 16th – 22nd May 2022, The Big Plastic Count is the UK’s biggest ever investigation into household plastic waste.

Our Gas Team have been shortlisted for another award, less than 12 months since the team won the 'Team of the Year' award at the Direct Works Awards 2021. 

We will sponsor the ‘Commitment to the Community Award’ at the Halton Business Awards, hosted by Halton Chamber of Commerce later this year.

Thanks to our Destination Halton Lodge programme, we have provided £1,386.00 to the school to purchase a new laptop charging station.

The award means we have shown we are serious about maintaining a ‘low carbon culture’ by becoming one of 70 carbon literate organisations in the UK and Ireland.
