Gas team celebrates 12 consecutive months of 100% gas safety compliance

Our Gas team, with support from Legal and Neighbourhoods teams, has achieved 100% gas compliance for 12 consecutive months.

Every year by law, as a registered landlord we must carry out an annual inspection of the gas appliances in all our homes. We will check that everything is as it should be with customers’ boilers, any pipework and gas appliances in their homes. The inspection is vital for our customers’ safety and can even help save money on fuel bills.

Sue Newton, Head of Health and Safety, commenting on the achievement said: “This is a massive achievement and I know just how hard the teams have worked to ensure that they gained access to every one of our homes that have a gas appliance.

This is the first time in over 5 years that we have managed to maintain our 100% for this period and is a testament to the team’s work including the work of our gas engineers in carrying out the servicing – sometimes at extremely short notice / out of hours.

We could also not have done this without help from our colleagues in the neighbourhoods and legal teams. Finally, a huge thank you to our customers for their ongoing cooperation and for allowing us access to their homes to complete the checks.”
