Ahead of King Charles’ Coronation on Saturday 6th May, residents of Quarry Court have planted a rose bush in memory of the late Queen Elizabeth II and residents that they have lost from the sheltered scheme over the years.

A short ceremony took place following the ‘Spruce up your Streets’ event with partners from Halton Borough Council, with residents helping to plant the rose bush.

Wendy Magee, Halton Housing’s Neighbourhood Officer said: “The planting of the rose tree is a small way of thanking our late Queen for her long and outstanding service to our nation and to remember residents we have lost at Quarry Court. We hope residents and visitors alike to Quarry Court enjoy the new rose bush and its blooms for many years to come.”

Following the ceremony, attendees enjoyed a coronation celebration afternoon tea.
