RAAC Statement
Following recent reports in the media, some customers may be concerned about any potential presence of RAAC (Reinforced Autoclaved Aerated Concrete) in their homes.
We would like to provide some reassurance that presence of RAAC in Halton Housing's homes is extremely unlikely, having been more commonly used in public and commercial buildings during the 1960’s and 1970’s rather than in domestic housing.
The property information we hold on our systems has not highlighted the presence of RAAC in any our homes, but as a further precautionary measure, we will be working with an external surveyor to carry out an assessment of our properties built during this period, so that we can further rule out the presence of RAAC.
Our customers’ safety is always our top priority. While the presence of RAAC is extremely unlikely, we hope these proactive measures will further reassure our customers.
If you have any concerns, please get in touch with us.
