Over 130 young people attend half-term activity programme
During the October half-term break, more than 130 local children benefitted from activities run by the youth charity Vibe as part of our Destination Upton programme.
The programme, commissioned by Halton Housing using Halton Borough Council's Youth Grant funding aimed to engage young people during Halloween week and what is often called ‘mischief night’ by offering a variety of free activities and games as part of a project aiming to reduce anti-social behaviour.
Working with Vibe and Cheshire Police, we recognised the need to focus on preventative measures that focussed on alternatives to anti-social behaviour to support young people, especially during this time of the year
Thanks to our partners Vibe, the activities included inflatable obstacle courses, PlayStation tournaments, Dance workshops with MD productions, craft activities, a games zone, and sports tournaments with Daley Sports.
Vibe provides a diverse range of activities and workshops, as well as promoting awareness about the consequences of poor behaviour choices that could lead to arrest and/or criminal records. The programme offered an inclusive space to socialise, learn new skills, get a hot meal, and have fun.
Thank you to everyone who attended – we hope you had fun!
