Halton Housing offers Riverside College students paid placements this summer
Five students from Riverside College have been given the amazing opportunity of a paid work placement with Halton Housing this summer.
The students, who are currently studying bricklaying, plumbing, painting, decorating and joinery will gain invaluable ‘on the job’ experience to complement what they’ve learnt in college.
Learning and Development Officer for Halton Housing, Karen Lopez said: “We hope that by engaging with students, they will consider roles with housing providers like us going forward and see the benefits that we can offer to newly trained tradespeople. We very much look forward to welcoming them to Halton Housing.”
Andy James, Head of Engineering and Construction at Riverside College commented: “Riverside College is delighted to be working with Halton Housing on such a meaningful opportunity for our construction students. Our hope, is that learners will be able to demonstrate their practical skills in a real world environment leading to jobs and opportunities for all involved. We are pleased that Halton Housing has seen the work ready ethic of our learners and supported them with this wonderful placement programme.”
