Our Helping Hands fund has recently donated £2000 to the Power in Partnership Youth Club in Grangeway. This generous contribution will support the club in its mission to provide nutritious meals to young people after school.

The Power in Partnership Youth Club offers a welcoming space where children can engage in games and activities and enjoy a healthy tea, all for free. Each week, up to 70 young people attend the club, choosing from a variety of delicious options including toasties, cheese toasties, pizza wraps, Nutella wraps, fruit skewers, and more. While 70 children attend regularly, the club has around 140 children registered.

Claire, a dedicated volunteer who helps run the group, shared her thoughts on the donation: "We run two sessions a week—Mondays for under 10's and Wednesdays for those aged 10 and over. We always ensure we have fruit available for skewers or to add to sugar-free jelly. We supply healthy wrap pizzas, toasties, sandwiches, sugar-free juices, and water. We currently cater to children with special dietary requirements, including two diabetic and two gluten-free children, providing them with appropriate alternatives such as free-from bread, spreads, cucumbers, salad, peppers, and more. During warm weather, we treat the children to ice pops, and in cooler evenings, we offer hot chocolate."

She continued, "Without this help, we wouldn't have the capacity to feed the number of attendees, which is now over 140 children on our books. In addition to providing meals, we also offer games, crafts, fun, and prizes. The support from the Helping Hands fund is greatly appreciated."

The donation from the Helping Hands fund ensures that Power in Partnership Youth Club can continue its vital work, nourishing young minds and bodies and fostering a sense of community and belonging among the youth of Grangeway.
