We have donated 375 items of essential hygiene products to The Hygiene Bank Halton to help people affected by hygiene poverty in the Borough.

Like food banks but for hygiene-related items, the Hygiene Bank is a network of 162 local projects nationally that collects new, unused, in-date personal care and household cleaning essentials - including deodorant, shower gel, shampoo, make-up, nappies, toilet roll, laundry detergent and surface cleaner.

Products are then sorted and distributed to its network of community partners - a mix of organisations, charities and schools.

Our donation of items worth £500 will help maintain stock levels at the Halton base of the initiative.

Halton Housing, Social Impact and Engagement Officer, Georgina Crank said: "As the cost of living crisis continues to impact our communities, The Hygiene Bank has been receiving fewer donations whist at the same time, there has been an increase in demand for help. However, many people can't afford to donate anymore. We are delighted to support the cause with our donation, and we believe it will go a long way in helping people with everyday hygiene products most of us take for granted.”
