Closure Order Granted on Widnes Home
Our Neighbourhoods team, in collaboration with police officers in Widnes, successfully secured a closure order this week from Warrington Magistrates' Court for a property on Cambridge Street.
This action follows numerous reports from the community regarding significant anti-social behaviour at the property. The closure order prohibits residents from accessing the house for a specified period.
Evidence gathered and presented to the Court proved that local residents had endured serious disturbances over several months. Despite efforts to engage with the resident, the issues persisted.
Working with local partners, this is a pleasing outcome and demonstrates our firm commitment to tackling and dealing with anti-social behaviour when it is reported to us.
Closure orders are intended to protect other residents in the neighbourhood by preventing anti-social behaviour in or around a property. The closure order will remain in effect for a certain period of time. During this time, only the single tenant of the property is permitted to enter. Anyone found breaching this court order could face prosecution.
