Destination Upton

Following on from previous Programmes, we are pleased to bring our fourth destination ‘Destination Upton', and welcome you to join us on the journey.

Through our Destination programmes, we aim to create lasting improvements, bringing communities together, and create opportunities for customers.

Consistent with previous programmes, and by working with our customers and residents of Upton we have identified key themes for the Upton area.

Employment

We're supporting and developing individuals with our partners to deliver and establish training programmes and create employment opportunities for residents.

Crime & ASB

Working with our partners, we’ll be helping to increase awareness of reporting ASB to help understand the main drivers for it in the Upton area, design out ASB through estate improvements and increase activity alongside customers and key partners.

Health & Wellbeing

We’ll be supporting and funding projects to support health and wellbeing services to improve the lives of local residents.

Open & Green Spaces

We are looking at the design and layout of the estate to see if we can improve the green spaces and environment. Green spaces will be assessed to see if they are suitable to take part in the ‘Big Halton Forest Project’.

Early commissioned projects include:

Community clean up and enhancement days
Spruce up your Streets activities to work with customer to improve shared garden spaces
Tree planting to improve community greenspace
Bulb planting programme with local schools
Digital arts and technology sessions to improve employability
Welfare Benefits and advice sessions in Upton Community Centre
Core20 NHS Project to support volunteers with lived experience of health matters
Halton Carers Centre to provide support to unpaid carers in Upton area
