Cooking class improves Grange children's nutritional knowledge
Popular Grange bakery, Quigley's recently hosted a food preparation session during the summer holidays for children living in the Grange.
Children enjoyed learning (and eating!) how to make fruit kebabs and spaghetti bolognaise.
The sessions helped the children to develop a taste for fresh, healthy ingredients with the hope to boost confidence and teach new skills for life. Instilling a real appreciation of where food comes from.
Due to the success of this session, a new healthy cooking session will run for 6 months starting in the autumn, which is jointly funded by Halton Housing and Travis Perkins.
The session was made possible thanks to support from Quigley’s bakery, Power in Partnership and Halton Housing’s Destination Grange programme.
