Community Partnership in Action: Tackling Abandoned Vehicles in Upton
In the Upton area, parking spaces have unfortunately become hotspots for abandoned and unroadworthy vehicles. Recognising the impact this has on the community—contributing to anti-social behaviour, fire hazards, and general disrepair—our Neighbourhoods team formed a strong partnership with the Halton Borough Council’s (HBC) Highways Department and the DVLA to address the issue head-on.
Over the past 10 months, our collaboration has led to the removal of five abandoned vehicles from Upton’s streets. This joint effort has not only reduced instances of ASB and lowered fire risks but has also enhanced the overall appearance and safety of the area.
Thanks to the dedication of all involved, Upton is now a cleaner, safer place for residents. Together, we’re committed to #MakingCommunitiesSafer every day!
